Introduction
Described as ‘the smoke that thunders’, few natural wonders can match the awesome splendour of the Victoria Falls as they tumble into the gorge below. Zambia is fortunate in having the Zambezi River and the Victoria Falls as a natural border and can combine a Falls viewing trip with an unforgettable safari experience. Our representatives will be pleased to tailor an exclusive itinerary around your special interests, be it cruising on the Zambezi, white water rafting, viewing big game, elephant riding or flying over the Falls in a helicopter.
Over the following pages you will find a selection of hotels and lodges where exceptional levels of comfort are assured. Daily flights with South African Airways, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic to OR Tambo Airport make the arriving easy, and there are onward connections to Livingstone and Victoria Falls.
Famed for its walking safaris, Zambia is the wilderness home to a diverse range of game, including elephants, lions, leopards, crocodiles and over four hundred species of birds. Many can be viewed in the South Luangwa National Park, one of nineteen parks providing visitors with up-close wildlife encounters. The Royal Livingstone, with its Zambezi River frontage, offers direct access to the Falls, whilst recreational possibilities include river cruises and lunch right on the edge of the Falls at Livingstone Island.
For Zambia fly British Airways to Lusaka directly or via OR Tambo Airport.
