Originally a seventeenth century monastery Monastero Santa Rosa has been lovingly restored to encompass twenty deluxe rooms and suites, many with vaulted ceilings and all featuring sumptuous bathrooms with separate shower and bath. Gourmands and oenophiles will appreciate the outstanding cuisine featuring specialities of the Campania region inspired by the local fishermen’s catch.
Suspended over the Bay of Salerno, The Restaurant Terrace commands one of the most enthralling vistas imaginable, with a sommelier always on hand to recommend the perfect accompaniment to the meal. Served every morning at breakfast, these shell-shaped, filled Italian pastries were invented at Monastero Santa Rosa in the 17th century when it was still a monastery. Fast-forward 400 years and the pastries are extremely popular at breakfast time - wake up extra early to beat your fellow guests to it.
Each of the twenty suites is named after a tree, plant or herb that the monastery's nuns would have grown in the gardens, including citrus, laurus and lavandula.
Matching the warm welcome you receive on arrival at Monastero Santa Rosa, on departure you are presented with the hotel's signature dried pasta and a special recipe from the hotel's chef to take home with you as a reminder.
