Kenya / Saruni Mara

Boasting a prime location in the private Mara North Conservancy, Saruni Mara provides an intimate and authentic Kenyan experience for those seeking understated luxury and world class game viewing. From The Observatory to The Artist’s Studio, each luxury cottage or villa is themed to perfection, with spacious private verandas boasting awe-inspiring views. With only five cottages, a family suite and a private villa and only 12 lodges in the conservancy, the overall safari experience is exclusive and highly personal. Knowledgeable Masai guides from the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association help to further bring the safari experience to life, sharing their bygone wisdom on the animals and culture of their beloved land. Experience a night drive in the Mara North Conservancy, savour a bush meal under the starlit sky or join the Warriors Academy for family-friendly courses in animal tracking and bush skills. Nestled in the tranquil olive and cedar forest, the Masai Wellbeing Space offers a range of unique treatments combining ancient Masai wisdom with modern techniques from its partner spa – Centro Benessere Stresa in Italy.

When is the best time to visit Kenya?

January to March is hot and dry with the long rains usually falling from April to early June. Between June and October it is warm and dry during the day but cold at night. The migration usually arrives in the Mara from July with river crossings from Tanzania generally taking place between July and September. The herds rest in Kenya before crossing back to Tanzania in October/November. Kenya’s coast enjoys a tropical climate – April to June can be humid, tempered by monsoon winds. Nairobi is pleasant year round due to its altitude.
