By general consensus the most luxurious of Londolozi properties, Private Granite Suites lies midway between the Varty and Founders camps and caters for just six guests. Crafted in materials which reflect the granite outcrops that surround the camp, the three guest suites boast wow-factor design in shades of silver and grey, each fronting directly onto the Sand River. Each has a private heated swimming pool and an outdoor bath, together with a viewing deck for exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities – during the winter months elephants move along the river directly in front of the camp. The brazier-warmed dining pavilion is just a short stroll away. The Private Granite Suites team ensures that standards never drop, the Champagne served on arrival and the African fusion cuisine being a particular highlight. Safari first timers and aficionados alike will be impressed by the game drives in an open Land Rover, across a landscape visited and praised by Nelson Mandela during his long walk to freedom. Note that the property does not accommodate children under the age of 16, unless guests book the camp exclusively.
Prices are per night on a fully inclusive basis with local drinks and game viewing activities.

A year round destination, but expect cooler weather in the Eastern and Western Capes during winter, between June and August. Mpumalanga stays warm year round with temperatures, humidity and rainfall all increasing in the summer months between October and March. The whales return to the waters around Hermanus from July to November, and the spring months of August and September are particularly colourful along the Garden Route. The prime time for game viewing is generally the drier winter and spring months from April to September when animals frequent the waterholes. During the wetter summer months between October and March, animals can still be viewed but are more widely dispersed – from December to February there may be more sightings of newborn animals.
