Set in thirteen acres of tropical gardens, the historical Cotton House is the beating heart of Mustique’s captivating social scene, where sampling the catch of the day at the Beach Cafe to sipping sundowners in the Great Room makes for a memorable retreat.
Converted by Oliver Messel in 1968, the boutique hotel is the island’s social hub, the relaxed ambience being conducive to lively social gatherings where guests may mingle with villa owners over cocktails and canapés in the atmospheric Great Room.
Dotted throughout the gardens, the villa-style rooms and suites are furnished in plantation style, some boasting exceptional sea views, others with private plunge pools; all are air-conditioned, with minibar, flat-screen TV and a private terrace or balcony. The Cotton Hill Residence is an exclusive hideaway, with two en suite bedrooms, a large private pool, panoramic hilltop views and its own butler and dedicated staff.
Nine deserted beaches invite exploration; horse-riding, tennis, scuba diving and day sails are readily available. Wellbeing is never far from the itinerary either, thanks to the soul-affirming organic ila spa, where local traditions and natural ingredients combine to nourish the body and mind.
Savour fresh fish at the Beach Café and sundowner drinks at the Beach Bar, followed dinner at the Veranda Restaurant.
