Santorini / Elivi Skiathos

A recent addition to this sunny isle, Elivi Skiathos brings a sense of laid-back living and harmony with nature to the island’s unspoilt south-western corner. Perfect for couples or families with older children, it’s a grown up getaway that is simple in aesthetic and relaxed in ambience.

The ethos of this family-run hotel maintains a focus on slowing down; enjoying the luxury of free time and spending it with the ones you love. Here, that could be lapping up the atmosphere on the lively Koukounaries beach, taking advantage of the unique location with a spot of cycling, hiking or water sports, or simply soaking up the sun and indulging in all that Elivi has to offer. There is a small Elemis spa on site, and Skiathos town is just 20 minutes away by car or boat.

Dining encompasses six venues that serve anything from upscale Mediterranean dishes and Eastern-inspired flavours to relaxed poolside fare, while seven bars, ranging from 60s-esque cocktail spots to contemporary beach shacks ensure an option for everyone.

Surrounded by a fragrant pine-tree forest and positioned close to no less than four characterful beaches, this is the optimum environment to indulge in wellness activities like restorative yoga, before lounging by one of two resort pools. Lucky guests might spot the elusive black swan, nods to which can be spotted throughout design elements of the hotel.

Accommodation comprises three options: hotel rooms above Koukounaries bay, beachfront Grace Suites or secluded, bungalow-style Nest accommodation situated within the olive groves behind Big Banana Beach. Elegantly understated interiors have all been designed to maximise bright natural light and with simple lines and natural hues that instil a sense of calm, melding seamlessly into views over the olive and pine trees or out to the twinkling Aegean Sea.
