Experiences / What are the best things to do at Borgo Egnazia?

We know, because we have visited the hotel personally. Learn to cook authentic Italian fare, cross the rolling countryside in a vintage Alpha Romeo, and party late into the night like a local on the resort piazza.

Apulian cooking masterclass

Channeling the hotel's 'from the earth to your plate' philosophy towards food, budding chefs can learn how to prepare traditional dishes  in a cooking class at Trattoria Mia Cucina. Uncover the secrets of the Massai Mimina and learn how to make Italian favourites like orecchiette, focaccia and pizza, using fresh, local ingredients. Recipes are simple and easy to follow, and make a nice thing to take home without filling up your suitcase.

Vintage Alpha Romeo tour

Explore the Apulian countryside travelling through the unspoilt Italian villages in a 1960’s vintage Alfa Romeo Giulietta, for a truly memorable way to discover the beautiful landscape. Charismatic staff are on hand to make sure everyone in the group is engaged and enjoying the ride.

Tip: Make sure you bring your driving licence so you can take hold of the wheel in these nostalgic vehicles.

Traditional Trulli

Visit the World Heritage Site of Trulli di Alberobello. You will find many traditional Trulli houses dispersed throughout the Puglia region, however this area is very unique due to its vast collection. Spend a couple of hours wandering through the fairy-tale maze of cobbled streets where you can visit the local churches and step inside the quaint shops to purchase jewellery, local food, linen, pottery and souvenirs.

Borgo bicycles

The hotel features a well-equipped bicycle rental centre so that guests can explore the surrounding area. Cycle through the olive groves, the 18 hole golf course, stop for a beautiful Italian coffee before and ventuing to the nearby beach club, Cala Masciola to sample the freshest seafood by the shimmering Adriatic Sea.

Piazza party

The village square is the heartbeat of the resort. It is a great place to visit if you want to experience true Italian hospitality. In the evenings, the hotel boasts fiestas, live music and comedy performances. In the summer months there are live cooking stations, ‘Fasano’ style barbeques and a variety of high energy street acts.

Soulful spa

Every detail of Borgo Egnazia's Vair spa is infused with the soul of southern Italy. A land with healthy natural therapies, this local reality served as inspiration for developing treatments in the spa. Patrizia Bortolin, the Spa Director, explains that their mission is to ensure that following treatments, their clients feel happier - a true psycho-emotional wellness approach.
