Flanked by an ancient rainforest and fronted by a dream-like sandy bay on the Andaman Sea, this Ritz-Carlton created oasis of luxury is a family-friendly retreat of special appeal. Newly opened, its sophisticated rooms and suites nestle amidst the exotic vegetation, blending contemporary design with indigenous island touches, while the uber-chic villas offer space and privacy in a rainforest or beachfront setting. Four distinct dining venues offer an irresistible selection of world cuisines, from the Malay-to-Indian creations of the Langkawi Kitchen and the western favourites of The Beach Grill to the Thai-influenced fare at the adults-only Horizon restaurant and Chinese seafood specialities of Hai Yan. To enjoy further Ritz-Carlton levels of pampering, spend time in the spa with its hammam and locally-inspired revitalising treatments. A large adults-only infinity pool and beachfront pool are complemented by a children’s pool at Ritz Kids; watersports and waterfall hikes can be enjoyed along with go-karting and horse riding. A resident naturalist is on hand to lead nature discovery programmes, geological sites explorations and rainforest meanders. End the day at the Horizon Lounge, out of bounds to children.
