Once the haunt of local gold miners, this renowned Queenstown landmark is now a fashionable, small hotel that’s setting new standards of hospitality on South Island. The most awarded private hotel in the country and Queenstown’s premier lakefront address, it draws a loyal clientele with elegant touches in the seven suites and two bedroom Penthouse suites such as fireplaces and your own personal deluxe mini bar. Bathrooms are large and opulent, while beds are super king-size and the in-room entertainment is state-of-the-art. Rooms offer unforgettable views of Lake Wakatipu or the towering mountains; a separate building houses four lakefront apartments. The historic Eichardt’s bar is a local icon and is the only bar in Queenstown that serves Champagne Bollinger by the glass, whilst providing an atmospheric spot to relax whilst the town’s restaurants are close by. With its comfortable sofas, cosy fireplace and gracious service, guests can savour excellent lunchtime tapas and indulge in signature cocktails including Eichardt’s Smoked Espresso Martini and Eichardt’s Mule.

Our team travel extensively, getting under the skin of every destination and hotel that we feature while building key connections and relationships along the way. In-depth knowledge of a destination is only part of what is required to curate a couture holiday experience; we also get to know you and what matters to you, meaning you receive genuine recommendations and a truly individual travel experience, and our Carrier Masterclasses ensure our travel experts are the best in the industry at tailoring bespoke and unique holidays.

We have been voted ‘Favourite Tour Operator’ by the readers of Condé Nast Traveller magazine more times than any other company in the past decade, and have been featured in The Sunday Times Travel Magazine’s Top 10 Tour Operators for 2016. Carrier has also won several national travel industry accolades, including ‘Luxury Tour Operator of the Year’ from TTG Luxury and Advantage Travel Centres.
