Adventure meets creature comforts in this close-to-nature tented lodge on the rugged shoreline next to Yala National Park. Relax into cossetting cocoon-shaped tents with four-poster beds and freestanding copper bathtubs, some with private pools facing the beach, some with decks overlooking local watering holes, ideal for wildlife spotting. Families will appreciate the Cocoons in the family area with their adjoining Urchin Tents. Meals are served in the open-air bamboo dining pavilion, lunch being à la carte, the delicious evening meals featuring Malay-inspired fare from the rotisserie, barbecue and tandoori oven. Guided safaris explore the quietest corners of the Park, which is famed for its leopards, elephants, and sloths. At the end of an active day guests can unwind in the Sanctuary Spa with its revivifying tea and cinnamon treatments.

Our pricing aims to give an indication of the prices in low and high season. Low season for Sri Lanka is generally between the months of May to July, high season runs from December to March. Prices are based on 2 sharing (unless otherwise indicated) with some including return economy flights from London. Regional departures, child prices and single supplements are available on request. Room Type /Cocoon Pool Suite

The luxurious Cocoon Pool Suite offers a four-poster king-sized bed and a spacious bathroom centred around a free-standing handmade copper bathtub. Combining colonial expedition style with contemporary design, the suites are highlighted in natural colours and premium materials. The perks of these suites are the private pools, offering beautiful views to the beach.

Room Type /Family Cocoon with Urchin

Similar to a Cocoon Suite, but with a smaller unit called an Urchin located adjacently just 10 meters away for the children. The private Cocoon features a four-poster king-sized bed and a spacious bathroom centered around a free-standing handmade copper bathtub, while the Urchin consists of 2 single beds and an outdoor bathroom.

Should parents not feel comfortable with the children sleeping in the separate unit, the property can also provide a maximum of two air mattresses to be placed inside the room. This arrangement has been done for family with 2 children and there has not been any space issues. 

Room Type /Cocoon Suite

The Cocoon Suite offers a four-poster king-sized bed and a spacious bathroom centred around a free-standing handmade copper bathtub. Combining colonial expedition style with contemporary design, the suites are highlighted in natural colours and premium materials. A private outdoor viewing deck overlooks a watering hole and is an ideal space for a spot of early morning bird-watching. 

When is the best time to visit Sri Lanka?

The best time to visit is generally from November to March when the weather is hot and at its driest, however the ancient cities are best visited from April to September. August is also a popular time to visit, and those travelling during the summer months will benefit from good hotel offers.
