"Baros lived up to the cliché of an idyllic Maldivian escape in every way, and trust me when I say that’s a good thing."
A stay at Baros is more than just the ocean surrounding it; it’s a chance to disconnect from the busyness of life and revitalise. We spent a morning enjoying an alfresco yoga class on a sand bank in the middle of the ocean, learning how to channel our breath and improve our posture, strength and flexibility. Later, after some quality time spent basking in the sunshine with my book by the main infinity pool, I managed to peel myself off the sun lounger in time to dine at the Lighthouse Restaurant, an overwater pavilion with a white sail on the roof which you can see for miles as the island comes into view. I tried mouth-watering flaming lobster soup, followed by Kadaif pastry wrapped tiger prawns, cooked to perfection. Baros lived up to the cliché of an idyllic Maldivian escape in every way, and trust me when I say that’s a good thing.
