Maldives / Niyama Private Islands

Why is Niyama Private Islands a great hotel for families?

The words ‘nature’s playground’ take on a whole new meaning here - two private islands make up this resort, and one has been designed with families in mind. Aptly named ‘Play’ (and a short hop across a wooden bridge from the original island, 'Chill') it boasts a superb new Explorers Kids Club (the only one in the Maldives to accept children less than three years of age) offering a range of activities, including jungle safaris, a climbing wall and a mini waterpark. Children can also be part of a programme designed to promote coral growth and preserve the surrounding reef for future generations. Under the supervision of the resident marine biologist, kids can adopt their own coral for transplanting on the reef, with regular snorkelling trips to learn more about the spectacular underwater environment. Further delights include kayaking, pirate treasure hunts, sailing aboard dhonis and weekly movie nights.
