Maldives / The Nautilus

Step into a world of your own making; a world with no restraints, where time has no meaning and where you have the freedom to live exactly as you please…

The brain child of Dr Maniku, Maldivian entrepreneur and revered forward-thinker, The Nautilus is inspired by the modern bohemian. What started life as a retirement project – realising his vision to create a dream retreat in the heart of the Maldives – has since evolved into a personal passion to fill and innovate a niche in luxury travel. A true labour of love, The Nautilus creates a meaningful and unpretentious space where travellers can experience true Maldivian authenticity, how and when they please.

“The Nautilus Maldives has been designed for the new generation of luxury travellers; travellers who are looking for transformative experiences and activities that they can share with those who matter the most to them”

– Dr Maniku.

A sense of place

Set amongst the iridescent reefs and cays of Baa Atoll, The Nautilus’ location is key to understanding its philosophy. In the heart of this UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, and just 35 minutes from Malé via seaplane, the resort is surrounded by nothing but raw Maldivian beauty – providing the perfect base to explore the atoll through a series of individualised experiences and bespoke programmes.

In pursuit of...

...Freedom from time. An island free from the constrictions of time, The Nautilus is a celebration of the individual spirit, and bestows the gift of true freedom unto its guests. Through unscripted dining, bespoke programmes, and a highly personalised, exceptionally private level of service, each and every moment is tailored completely – giving guests the space, choice and time to truly discover, and celebrate, themselves.

Wake up here

Inspired by the unique and enduring form of the nautilus shell, each villa at this resort provides an opulent and elegant yet bohemian escape for its visitors. For a truly standout stay, ask about The Nautilus Mansion; the beach home of Dr Maniku himself, this one-of-a-kind residence comes complete with custom-made furnishings and is built on a prime spot in the sand.

On location

Service at The Nautilus is of the highest standard. True to its word, the resort offers its guests complete freedom – even down to what, and when, they eat. Unscripted Dining across three restaurants and two bars allows any meal to be eaten at its most convenient time, while each villa’s pantry is personalised and stocked with favourite foods and drinks prior to arrival.

A Carrier curation

Share with us in advance your personal goals. Whether it’s to relieve tension or quiet a busy mind, we will collaborate with Nautilus experts prior to your trip to customise a bespoke wellness programme in advance of your arrival.  If you want to go at your own pace, just ask – we can arrange private wellbeing sessions in the seclusion of your room at a time that suits you.

Essentials

Uniquely in the Maldives, The Nautilus experience begins on the runway at Velana International Airport – where every guest is taken straight from the plane to a VIP lounge for a relaxed customs and immigration clearance. From there, it’s a short hop to The Nautilus’ own private lounge to await the 35-minute seaplane flight to Baa atoll.

When is the best time to visit Maldives?

The Maldives has a hot, tropical climate with sunshine all year round. The most popular months to visit are between November and April during the north-east monsoon when it is dry with very little wind. Whilst there may be rain during some of the summer months, with ever-changing weather patterns and excellent offers, this is becoming an increasingly popular time to travel.
