An oceanfront position on the north west coast, close to fashionable Grand Baie, is the setting for this luxurious resort. Proudly maintaining the Oberoi tradition of offering deluxe accommodation enhanced by unparalleled hospitality, its seventy one luxury villas and pavilions nestle within sub-tropical gardens which lead down to the beach. Subtle colour schemes and natural fabrics are complemented by every modern comfort; the Luxury Pavilions boast spacious bedrooms with sitting areas and outdoor terraces, whilst the villas have alfresco dining areas, walled courtyards offering the ultimate in seclusion and most have large private swimming pools. Creole, European and international cuisine fuse on the menu of The Restaurant, whilst lighter lunches and grilled menus for dinner can be savoured at On The Rocks. The Touching Senses programme provides activities such as cookery classes, astronomy sessions and nature walks. The Oberoi Spa is a sanctuary of relaxation, offering traditional treatments incorporating natural products. Mauritius is a year round destination and experiences a warm subtropical climate, with relatively little seasonal variation in temperatures year round. May to October is dry with comfortable temperatures ranging between 18°C and 24°C with cooling tradewinds coming in from the southeast. Visitors during these dates will often benefit from excellent offers from the hotels. November to April is much warmer and humid with average temperatures ranging between 25°C to 33°C with an increase in rainfall. January and February tend to be the wettest months with the possibility of tropical storms although this is a rarity.
