Oman / Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa - Al Waha

Family-popular Al Waha is the largest of the three hotels that make up Shangri-La’s Omani portfolio. Meaning “The Oasis”, this idyllic escape is dotted with several swimming pools and surrounded by date palm trees. The family accommodation comprises two interconnecting rooms that look over the lush gardens and glittering pools towards the Gulf of Oman, kitted out with a PlayStation and a section of games on request. An array of eateries provides delicious dining options. Between Al Waha and Al Bandar lies the enchanting beachfront Bait al Bahr showcasing the unique and distinct flavours of Omani cuisine where succulent seafood dominates. Savour flavours from the Mediterranean and Latin America at Samba, or indulge the little ones with child-friendly food at Surf Café. Oman’s first dedicated leisure hotel also has a Cool Zone Kids Club, which offers a wide range of supervised activities for children up to eight years. In addition, separate pools for toddlers and older children ensure that fun in the water is possible for all.

Enjoy some of the most spectacular underwater scenery in an area relatively untouched and unexplored from this Moorish resort. Daily snorkelling and scuba dives with the experts are offered in the Bandar Khayran area, or opt for advanced courses diving around wreckages and lessons in underwater photography. Back on land, this is a crucial nesting site for hawksbill and green turtles. Join turtle ranger Mohammed and learn how Shangri-La's Care for Nature Project is protecting these endangered, native species.
