Lake Ihema boat trip

One of 23 lakes in Rwanda, Lake Ihema is a magnificent microcosm that’s teeming with wildlife. Located in the south of Akagera National Park, and amongst some of Rwanda’s most spectacular scenery, visitors are privy to a unique look into the homes of hippopotamus and crocs, as well as around 550 bird species. Top tip: take a boat trip across the lake for an up-close look at some of the world’s most wonderful wildlife.

Nyungwe canopy walk

The only walk of its kind in East Africa, the Nyungwe Canopy Walk features three different bridges up to 70 meters off the ground, and boasts outstanding views of the Nyungwe Forest National Park. Overlooking 2000 sq meters of centuries old trees, mountains and waterfalls, take a trip along the tree tops for a view of Rwanda like no other.

Akagera game drive

Embark on a game drive across Akagera National Park – the largest of its kind in Rwanda.  A vast, multi-terrain area, filled with woodland, swamps and savannah grasslands, this park is the perfect place to get up close and personal with The Big 5 alongside hundreds of species of birds. Home to various lakes and rivers, the park is also the largest protected wetland in Central Africa with one of the highest concentrations of hippopotamus in the area.
