Perched on the edge of the Seven Seas Lagoon, the luxury resort is connected to the nearby Disney parks by a direct monorail system, making transportation effortless. In the lobby, the orchestral sounds of jazz and popular Disney classics pervade the air, whilst sparkling chandeliers and gas lamps evoke a Neo-Victorian ambience throughout the resort. Stately guestrooms are spacious and modern, with most featuring private balconies boasting resort, lagoon or theme park views. From flavourful Mediterranean cuisine at Cítricos to delectable seafood at Narcoossee’s, the culinary offering at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa caters to a wide variety of tastes.
The coveted Victoria & Albert’s restaurant proffers haute American cuisine in the most exquisite surroundings; guests can choose to dine around Chef Scott Hunnel’s table for a gourmet 13 course feast. The Beach Pool is ideal for families with younger children thanks to its gentle decline and accompanying water play area, whilst the Courtyard Pool offers a more tranquil environment for all guests. Poolside luxury comes in the form of well-appointed private cabanas, featuring sun loungers, LCD televisions and mini refrigerators stocked with complimentary refreshments. For utter relaxation, guests can choose to indulge in a treatment at Senses – A Disney Spa, from warm stone massages to açaí berry facials. Further recreations include tennis, watersports and golf, with five acclaimed golf courses nearby.

With perennial sunshine and long days, Florida is a holiday destination to visit all year-round. The state is warm and dry in the winter and hot and humid in the summer, when short, heavy showers can be expected. Families who are tied to the school holidays should ideally aim to book at least a year in advance in order to take advantage of the best airfares and hotel availability. Palm Beach is also popular around the school holiday seasons.
