Enjoy sophisticated Savoyard charm in one of two attractive and vibrant villages, offering access to the impressive Portes du Soleil ski area with 650km of pistes and attractions for skiers of all levels. Ever increasing in popularity, Morzine has grown from a traditional Savoyarde working village into to a vibrant alpine town. Still retaining much of its original charm and character, it has a become a mecca for winter sports enthusiasts who like to combine their skiing with snowmobiling, tobogganing and ice skating, shopping and nightlife. The après-ski scene is one of the liveliest in the Portes du Soleil area with streets buzzing with laid back blues and jazz bars, sophisticated wine bars and a wide selection of restaurants. For a quieter experience, Les Gets offers the ideal environment for families, with its traditional, local charm and chalet-style restaurants. Little ones will love the Les Gets mini-train, which transports guests from the main ski lifts to Mont Chéry.
Straddling the French-Swiss border, the Portes du Soleil ski area comprises twelve resorts that share the pleasures offered by 650km of well-maintained pistes. With such a huge expanse of ski terrain to explore, each day brings new challenges; choose from the Pleney nursery slopes and beginner pistes at the top of the main gondola, the gentle cruising runs over to Les Gets or the more demanding runs and terrain parks of Avoriaz. Mogul lovers will enjoy the challenges of the Swiss Wall - one of the steepest blacks in the Alps - whilst off-piste powder hounds can book a guide and ski one of the best off-piste descents back into the Vallée de la Manche.
|Altitude of resort||1000 - 1170m|
|Highest skiing point||2275m|

Within easy reach of Morzine (and included in most lift passes in the Portes du Soleil area), Avoriaz is to become the latest home to legendary La Folie Douce.
Opening December 18th, La Folie Douce will include self-service restaurant La Petite Cuisine, and the fancier La Fruitière - where the most extravagant après parties will take place between 2pm and 6.30pm daily.
