"This is a small, relaxed and friendly hotel with a traditional alpine feel and full of charm."
As you walk in to the hotel, the reception leads out to a cosy but fairly spacious lounge & bar area with plenty of room to relax; traditional wood and stone décor complements the view of the snow-covered blue run slope leading back to the hotel, while a roaring log fire beckons you to linger and relax. With many longstanding members of staff, the hotel really prides itself on its excellent – and consistent – levels of service. The Chef has been there since 1992, the General Manager Anthony has been there for 15 years, and the delightful barman has been there since the Olympics were held in 1992.
Its location is excellent, offering ski-in, ski-out on a blue run. Despite being only steps away from the centre of Meribel, it retains a peaceful feeling due to being tucked away from the main road and, as a Relais & Châteaux property, the focus is clearly on the character, food and service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Le Grand Coeur & Spa to couples and families who want the relaxed luxury offered by a well-established hotel with emphasis on excellent cuisine.
