I had the most wonderful time in Florida, from the moment we touched down at Orlando International, the service was exceptional.
We arrived at The Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes Orlando within 20 minutes and were swiftly checked in and had Executive Suites allocated to us. These are incredibly spacious and have fabulous views over the lake. The facilities are extensive and the hotel is in such huge grounds, you can quite easily get lost. I would recommend the Vineyard Grill restaurant which is lovely and welcomes families.
After a relaxing night recovering from our jetlag, we went to Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. The Hyatt Regency is a vast property with picturesque grounds, which are perfect if you fancy a long walk. In the evening we went over to Loews Portofino Hotel at Universal Orlando, which is a quaint and pretty resort, you move around the resort by water taxi, which makes you feel as though you are in Italy. Make sure you take a Universal City Walk; it is fascinating and perfect for people watching.
The drive from Orlando to Naples was breathtaking; we even passed through the everglades and had great fun trying to spot an alligator. After three hours we arrived in Naples, where we had the pleasure of staying at The Ritz-Carlton Naples, situated in a beautiful beach setting; this hotel has a laid back feeling compared to the hustle and bustle of Orlando.
After Naples we headed to Eau Palm Beach. I was envious of the couples and families who were dining and celebrating in private cabanas right on the ocean edge so i would recommend pre-booking for these, but i enjoyed a delicious meal in Temple Orange which serves locally grown specialities.
