Savour exceptional bottles of sophisticated reds or uplifting chardonnays from over 80 wineries and cycle around the Art Deco streets of nearby Napier; all before flying to Nelson, New Zealand’s second oldest city nestled between three national parks and home to an incredible coastline to explore.

Next, enjoy a scenic drive up the East Coast to Kaikoura where whale watching by air or sea awaits, before heading to Christchurch to soak up the historic architecture and art galleries. Finally, finish your trip near Queenstown – often referred to as the adrenaline capital with activities ranging from bungee jumping and skydiving to white water rafting and hot air ballooning.

Fly to Rotorua for a 2 night stay at Huka Lodge. Here, you'll be wowed by the many geothermal features surrounding the city, including boiling pools of mud, bright green or orange lakes and hot springs. Home to some of the rarest native birds, reptiles and fish, this is a great starting point for any wildlife enthusiast. (HB)

Take a short drive to Hawke's Bay for a 2 night stay at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers. Savour gourmet cuisine washed down by exceptional wines from over 80 wineries in the 'fruit bowl' of New Zealand. There are also numerous flat cycle trails nearby, while charming Napier boasts a fabulous Art Deco inner city. (HB)

Nelson

Fly to Nelson for a 2 night stay at Edenhouse. This is the South Island's second oldest city, and it really does have it all when it comes to having a range of environments to explore - nestled between three national parks, sandy beaches, mountain ranges and vineyards, you'll find birds and plants that don't exist anywhere else in the world. Drive to the east coast for an ovenight stay at Hapuka Lodge, where ocean currents converge and conditions attract a cornucopia of marine life including sperm whale which can be viewed from boats, light aircrafts and helicopter. (HB)

Christchurch

Drive to Christchurch for a 2 night stay at Otahuna Lodge. Soak up the historic architecture, art galleries, parks and the River Avon's meandering path while here. Should you wish to venture further, Akaroa and South Canterbury are just a two hour drive away. (HB)

Queenstown

Fly to Queenstown for a 3 night stay at Blanket Bay. Activities here span from skydiving and jet boating to white water rafting and hot air ballooning. Exquisite wines are to be found in the Central Otago region. (HB)
