Rocky Mountaineer - Rainforest to Gold Rush

Day /1

Vancouver to Whistler

Transfer via coach from downtown Vancouver, after which Rock Mountaineer will journeys through the sublime British Columbia coastline witnessed along Sky Corridor. Hypnotic seascapes make way for the resort town of Whistler. Highlights along the route include stunning views of Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains, Brandywine Falls, Mount Garibaldi, and the ever impressive Cheakamus Canyon. Unwind after an action packed day of sightseeing when spending the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Whistler.

Whistler to Quesnel

Whistler to Quesnel

Next stop onboard the Rocky Mountaineer is the elegant charms of Quesnel town. Carving a path northwards inland, breathtaking scenery abounds as flowing canyon rivers subside for the immaculate farmland of the Pemberton Valley. Embrace the remote tranquility of the arid Fraser Canyon , before traversing through the undulating hills towards the vast ranchlands of the Cariboo Plateau. Keep a close watch for the reflective shorelines of Anderson Lake, the incredible views of Fraser Canyon, and the breathless crossing of Deep Creek Bridge as one of the highest railway bridges in the world. Overnight stay in Quesnel.

Quesnel to Jasper

The Rocky Mountaineer shifts course eastwards today, with the dwarfing heights of the Canadian Rockies and Jasper National Park visible en route. Leaving Quesnel, venture along the Fraser River north and take in the town of Prince George, before moving through forestry housing an abundance of wildlife and the chance to spot a moose. The dizzying heights of the seemingly ever rising Rocky Mountains move into view upon entering the Rocky Mountain Trench, with the Cariboo Mountains also observed to the south. Witness the enormous spectacle of Mount Robson as the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, before culminating the memorable journey in Alberta Province and Jasper.
