News / Introducing: Europe & North Africa 2018/19

Slightly closer to home, but with just as much sunshine appeal, we wrap up the best offerings in Europe and North Africa for the coming year.

What’s new for 2018/19

Ibiza’s newest and most hotly-anticipated luxury hotel, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, sets new standards on Talamanca Bay. The epitome of laid-back designer chic, accommodations include rooms and suites decked in a palette of whites, golds and blues; some feature a plunge pool. Hot on its heels on the west coast of the island is the arrival of the Seven Pines all-suite resort, due to open in May 2018. Tucked away on a tranquil bluff within an area of exquisite natural beauty, this luxury hotel will stand above Cala Codolar beach, one of the longest on the island.

A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Boutique Hotel Alhambra fronts the tranquil waters of Čikat Bay; its soft colour schemes blending seamlessly with the lush surrounds. Indulge in reviving therapies at the spa with its indoor heated seawater pool, Finnish and Mediterranean saunas or relax on the well-equipped private beach.

Another new opening, and welcome addition to our portfolio this year, is Ikos Dassia in Corfu. Fresh blues, whites and creams distinguish contemporary interiors, reflecting the azure Ionian sea and sun-bleached sand of Blue Flag-awarded Dassia beach. Opening in May 2018, the resort offers stylish accommodation spanning double and triple rooms, spacious suites and pool suites, bungalow suites and deluxe two-bedroom beachfront villas with private pool.

And, with Greece being such a popular choice for spring, summer and autumn sunshine, we have introduced a number of new properties, including Myconian Kyma and Kensho Boutique Hotel & Suites in Mykonos, Canaves Oia Epitome and Kirini in Santorini, and Porto Zante Villas & Spa in Zakynthos.

What to book when...

Couples looking to secure their picture perfect honeymoons to Mykonos and Santorini during the summer months, up to and including September, should definitely be booking well in advance.

If your holiday plans include a stay at Forte Village in Sardinia, you won’t want to miss out on the impressive array of concerts held at their 5,000 seat open-air Forte Arena. Shows in 2017 included Mamma Mia, Il Volo, Jesus Christ Superstar and Rigoletto. Tickets do sell out incredibly quickly so speak with our concierge to ensure you have some of the best seats in the house.

Gourmet enthusiasts will be in for a treat at Domes of Elounda between June and October; five award-winning chefs will take over the resort for a weekend each, but tables must be booked in advance. What’s more, Carrier guests will receive VIP check-in and check-out, priority allocation of accommodation, a welcome drink in suite on arrival, and a complimentary à la carte dinner at Yaosai Asian Fusion Restaurant.

Spoil yourself – the best spa breaks in Europe

In the last two years alone, the Six Senses spa at Douro Valley has won the Gala Spa Award 2017, Spa Finder Wellness Travel Award 2016 and Condé Nast Traveller Spa Awards 2016.

L’Albereta’s Spa Espace Chenot is listed amongst the best luxury detox spas in the world; treatment programmes can be booked for anywhere between 4 and 7 nights. A range of specialist treatment areas are available to choose from, including medical, human performance, hydro-biontology, aesthetic biontology, aesthetic medicine, traditional aesthetic, and sport & fitness.

For a spa experience steeped in nature, Verdura Resort’s 4,000 square metre spa is housed in pavilions grouped around an open-air courtyard. With an extensive array of  treatment rooms including double treatment suites, four outdoor thalassotherapy pools, a 20m indoor swimming pool, and a double-height steam room, as well as both Finnish and infrared saunas, this is a spa that offers it all.

Carrier recommended

Following an exciting year of familiarisation trips across the continent, our team have selected their personal favourites for the upcoming season...

Returning from Borgo Egnazia in Puglia, Claire said, “This is a real gem of a hotel showcasing the best of Puglian lifestyle; the hotel feels very authentic and you can feel the passion from the owners heart and soul present in every detail of the resort.”

Hidden away in the old town and yet still within walking distance of all the sights, everybody from Carrier who has seen Hotel Sant Francesc has absolutely loved it. Our Managing Director, Mark recently stayed here and said it was his new favourite place to stay in Palma.

Offering a fantastic kids club and a plethora of dining choices, Victoria felt that both The Romanos, A Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin in Costa Navarino were excellent choices for families.
