WHAT'S NEW /

Newcomers to our portfolio

St Barth / Rosewood Le Guanahani

In a nutshell: This Carrier favourite is back with a new look but still the same faultless creature comforts. It’s always been a bare-foot elegance kind of place; and now with the Rosewood prefix, it’s a stylish addition to the island’s A-list for newbies and a fresh take on an old favourite for loyal returners.

Why come here: Mingling with the jet-set crowd in an atmosphere beautifully drench in a profusion of French flavour. This is the place to be and be seen…

Not to be missed: Local ceramic artist Veronique Vandernoot turns guide to lead a tour of the real St Barths. Having lived on the island for over 25 years, Veronique shows off her favourite haunts in the neighbourhoods signposted by her creations, before a visit to her studio in Gustavia to talk all things ceramics.

TAKE ME THERE

Lux* Grand Baie Resort & Residences / Mauritius

In a nutshell: Lux*’s new flagship is an absolute trailblazer paving the way for the brand’s future resorts. More boutique in style than its siblings, 116 swanky Kelly Hoppen-designed sanctuaries make it an intimate affair, with the Asian-inspired restaurant Ai KISU and its adjoining club causing a stir after sunset.

Why come here: This is a wellness retreat with ‘soul’. There’s a real focus on enriching the mind and spirit with ‘Collectable Experiences’ based in the local community.

Not to be missed: As champions of all things Mauritius, a chance to show off the surrounding nature is always welcomed. A restoring dip under a cascading waterfall is followed by a picnic lunch with views across the island on a nature trek that we highly recommend taking out a full day to experience.

TAKE ME THERE

Thailand / Capella Bangkok

In a nutshell: On the fringe of one of the city's oldest and most unique districts, Capella’s first Bangkok hotel straddles the edge of the Chao Phraya River, the subject within each and every window. The villas are the only ones of their ilk on the water, and a Capella Culturist programme embodies the meaning of authentic experiences.

Why come here: Delving beneath the surface of some of Bangkok’s most notable districts with perfectly personalised and authentic experiences.

Not to be missed: Capella’s very own Chef Lek is the guide when it comes to the Charoenkrung neighbourhood. Discovering the “hole in the wall” foodie hotspots and the colourful characters behind them, the day is filled with culinary secrets before Chef Lek shows off his own Grandmother’s recipes in the Phra Nakhon kitchen.

TAKE ME THERE

Courchevel / Six Senses Residences & Spa

In a nutshell: Not quite a hotel, but far from a chalet, it’s clear these apartments – decked out in mellow alpine block-check throws and sustainably sourced timber – aren’t like anywhere else in Courchevel. But while the state-of-the-art kitchens welcome the foodie self-caterers, it wouldn’t live up to the brand name if their reputable hospitality was unseen.

Why come here: Rubbing shoulders with the likes of Chanel and Louis Vuitton in the centre of Courchevel’s 1850.

Not to be missed: Of course Six Senses know how to shake up dinner. Instead of heading to the usual haunts, start the evening off with a guided snow scooter ride over pistes and through forest paths that lead onto a woodcutter’s cottage. Here, a Savoyard evening with music, wine and a traditional dinner awaits.

TAKE ME THERE

Cambodia / Bensley Collection - Shinta Mani Wild

In a nutshell: The type of place to push comfort zone boundaries, it’s very much “go, go, go” here with activities centring around their primary goal of saving the forest. True to Bensley’s signature style, the ostentatious tents are all individually draped in delicious mahogany with a touch of vibrant colour and vintage-traveller accents.

Why come here: Encouraging travellers to step out their hotel room joining the front line of conservation and engaging in local communities.

Not to be missed: Join the anti-poaching patrol on a motorbike for an eye-opening experience into Shinta Mani Wild’s ranger site in association with the Wildlife Alliance. Their goal is to protect the forest with anti-poaching and anti-logger initiatives, animal camera traps and snare removal.

WHAT'S TRENDING /

Travel that's too good to miss...

St Lucia / Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort

Set to launch a new chapter in its legacy, expect elevated experiences and upgrades as Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort re-emerges from its extensive enhancement journey this month. Taking privacy up a notch are bungalows and cottages nestled higher up the mountain, while beneath the edge of the UNESCO Pitons, there's a re-imagined pool debuting cabanas alongside a new poolside bar. A private couples treehouse treatment room on stilts and culinary upgrades complete the makeover.

Slope-side wish list this season / Luxury Ski & Snow

Much like our summer holiday plans, COVID-19 significantly disrupted winter ski on both sides of the Atlantic, disappointing serious slope-skimmers and winter wonderland wanderers for the past two seasons. So, it’s hardly surprising that time away from the slopes means there’s a stronger than expected demand for ski holidays this year. Plus, we've started to see a growing trend for luxury skiers seeking out calmer and quieter slopes away from the crowds.

WHERE TO STAY & SKI

Safari So Good / Kenya

Kenya lives and breathes the classic safari experience. With so many trips rescheduled and unprecedented popularity since coming off the Red List, space is hard to come by for intimate wilderness camps (especially when the spectacular migrating herds cross the Mara late July - August). If you’re still dreaming about that elusive once-in-a-lifetime adventure whether it’s for next year or 2023, our safari specialists can design an exceptional journey, so bespoke you won’t find it anywhere else.
