Courmayeur

  • Snowy mountains covered in trees
Mixed groups - Non-skiers - Alpine charm

It may be relatively piccolo in size, but the feeling in Courmayeur is one of being enveloped in a bubbling Italian ambiance big enough to cover a whole country.

Mixed groups - Non-skiers - Alpine charm

It may be relatively piccolo in size, but the feeling in Courmayeur is one of being enveloped in a bubbling Italian ambiance big enough to cover a whole country.

Boasting unrivalled scenery on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, Courmayeur’s charm lies in its cobbled town centre where a heady dose of après-ski life can be found. Before diving into the world of post-piste partying, thrill seekers and challenge setters can get their adrenaline pumping with guided off-piste runs and exhilarating heliskiing, while non-skiers can take in 360° views of the peaks on a rotating cable car ascending the face of Punta Helbronner. For those on a fleeting ski escape but wanting to make the most of Italy’s slopes, we recommend a day in La Thuile, a mere 45 minute drive away.

The skiing

Courmayeur’s small ski area is ideal for a mixed group of intermediates and beginners in search of a short winter break; with fantastic heliskiing and off-piste opportunities for the experts. Intermediates can explore the small compact ski area while beginners have their lesson then easily meet up for lunch.
