EARLY AND LATE SEASON SKIING – INTERMEDIATES - ALPINE CHARM

Known fondly as The Pearl of the Alps, Saas-Fee is a true gem for ski-lovers. A picturesque village with a fairy-tale feel, this miniature Swiss town provides the perfect base for a snow-sure ski getaway.

Here, narrow traffic-free streets give way to chocolate-box shops, restaurants and bars – while the occasional electric taxi skates by. Likened to the much-loved resort of Zermatt, Saas-Fee’s charm lies in its ability to cater for everyone; with a remote feel, upbeat yet relaxed atmosphere, and array of activities for both ski-lovers and non-skiers alike. Those looking for non-ski activities need look no further than Hannig – a nearby mountain that’s dedicated solely to sledging and tobogganing – while winter walks await those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground.

See Saas-Fee in all its glory with 360-degree views from the world’s highest revolving restaurant. Visit the Ice Cave in the heart of the Fee Glacier, to discover 2,000 year old ice telling stories of mysticism, fairy tales and legends. Take a winter walk into Saas-Fee’s woodland and discover the filming location of Wham!’s Last Christmas music video. See the town in a different light with sunrise skiing or an evening gondola ride, enjoying a fondue with a glass of wine.

The skiing

With a high altitude and one of the best snowfall records in the Alps, skiing is guaranteed almost year round. 100km of pistes await – perfect for intermediate skiers and, with excellent nursery slopes, beginners too. With north facing slopes and a ski high point at over 3500m, Saas-Fee is one of the most snow-sure resorts in the alps, and guarantees exceptional snow quality through to late spring.
