The royal treatment in Morocco

Marrakech – Casablanca – Tamuda Bay

The royal treatment
in Morocco

From its bustling souks to glistening shores, Morocco’s charm has long wooed travellers from far and wide, right down to its own royalty.

With the loveliest of lodgings fit for a monarch, Royal Mansour’s palatial portfolio hits the golden mean between opulence and authenticity. The décor is sumptuous and the service is practically precognitive – oh, and they’re in three beautiful locations beloved by their sovereign owners.

The buzz of Marrakech starts the journey, where a refined riad is the base for explorations from all perspectives. Then, the coast comes calling, with a praise for the Golden Age ignited by Casablanca’s Art Deco gems, and a warming Mediterranean familiarity is found on the beaches of Tamuda Bay.

Extraordinary
experiences

    • Soar over Marrakech in a hot air balloon

At the crack of dawn, take flight over Marrakech’s countryside in a hot air balloon. As the world below begins to wake up, glide gracefully over the Atlas Mountains and sleepy Berber villages before breakfast (including four different coffees) is served mid-air.

    • Visit the ‘Blue City’ of Chefchaouen

Despite its name meaning ‘horns’ in Rif Berber thanks to the mountains that flank it, Chefchaouen couldn’t be a more peaceful place. Famous for its vibrant blue hue, a rich heritage has left it scattered with mosques and Andalusian gardens that call out to be explored. After wondering the town, head to the nearby Kasbah – complete with a Berber museum and pretty gardens of its own.

    • Discover the wonders of Tangier

Tripping down a hill to the sea in a flash of white, Tangier’s streets are a heady fusion of African and Mediterranean influence. Hopping from souks, to markets, to cultural sites like the Kasbah, the uniqueness of this melting pot means there’s something new around every corner.

    • Explore Casablanca’s classic sites and foodie delights

An expert guide leads the way around Casablanca’s streets, stopping first at Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in Africa, before exploring Notre Dame de Lourdes church and the Habous District. Then as one tour ends in Le Petit Paris, another begins, divulging the secrets of the city’s food scene with every bite.

    • Savour a picnic in the Atlas Mountains

Slowing down the pace away from bustling Marrakech, a peaceful picnic in the Atlas Mountains shows a different side to the region. After dining on gourmet fare prepared by an expert chef, sat on embroidered Berber fabrics and cushions, a stroll around the spot reveals relatively untrammelled paths dying to be explored.

    • Take a sidecar around Marrakech and dine under the stars

Marrakech is brimming with sights, and there’s no better way to get around them all than in a vintage sidecar. Zip through the Medina’s alleys with a guide in search of hidden gardens and historic buildings, meeting some locals along the way. Later, a camel ride through the desert at dusk ends at a private tent set up for dinner and stargazing.
