Described by Sir Francis Drake as ‘the fairest cape in all the world’, the vibrant city of Cape Town is the starting point for a jam-packed five days, ensuring plenty of moments to pursue pastimes to please the whole clan. Children lead seaside explorations by bike and hear stories of the Mother City’s history before setting off on garden treasure hunts and penguin spotting. While downtime comes in the form of kid-friendly sundowners and a stop at a local farm village for homemade ice cream.
Then, it’s into the wilderness for a stay in South Africa’s reserves to spot some of the continent's most iconic animals. But the choice here is yours; will you venture to Tswalu Game Reserve or Madikwe National Park? Either way, days are spent indulging in bush picnics, nature walks and game drives, and give little ones the chance to learn how to track wildlife and make casts of their footprints. By evening, come together to enjoy local dishes, fire pit stories and stargazing before retiring to bed to snuggle down to the ambient orchestra outside.

Cape Town
We settled in on our first day with by the pool and a picnic lunch in the hotel gardens. We're changing up the pace tomorrow with a hike up Table Mountain (taking the easy route in the cable car...) Then we're heading down to the sea front, where the kids will be leading the way on a bike ride through Sea Point Promenade.

Cape Town
We're heading to Kalk Bay today (with a stop for hot chocolate en route). We're visiting the seals in the harbour and penguins at the local beach, the kids cannot wait! Then it's even more animal spotting at Cape Point which has its very own top five. We can't wait to explore it hidden coves and beaches, as well as the Cape Point Lighthouse.

If you choose: Tswalu Game Reserve
Today we continued exploring South Africa’s largest private game reserves, the endless rolling dunes and red Kalahari sands are a sight to behold. We met a colony of meerkats before heading out on a horseback safari across the plains. We were so lucky to spot the inky-black maned lions and the shy aardvarks and pangolins that call this place home!

If you choose: Madikwe National Park
We're spening the second half of the trip in wildly beautiful savannahs and bushland. Today we're heafding out on a game drive in search of the Big Five. Although we've already had an extra-special morning with a bush breakfast served to the beats of a Marimba band!
