Typically drenched in sun, with a lively atmosphere come night time, this low-rise chalet style resort is a favourite for all abilities and post-piste shenanigans.

The skiing

Renowned as one of the best ski areas in Europe, The Three Valleys (Les Trois Vallées) is an incomparable experience with access to over 600km of snow-laden slopes across Courchevel, Mèribel, Val Thorens and St Martin de Belleville. Lying at the heart, Méribel’s close-connection to all the action, makes getting from valley to valley all too easy. Proficient skiers can ride the seamless lift system and head for a different area every day; while for mixed ability groups they make easy work of meeting up for lunch. Beginners and cruising intermediates are extremely well catered for with a vast choice of well-groomed long blue runs, dedicated nursery slopes and good ski schools, while expert skiers will find endless challenges from mogul fields, off-piste and couloirs to over 30 dedicated black runs.
