North America’s ski destinations combine scale with sophistication, from the chic streets of Aspen to the wilderness allure of Whistler. Here, adventure and indulgence go hand in hand: think heli-skiing across untouched terrain, après-ski cocktails in stylish lodges, and spa rituals designed to soothe after a day on the slopes. The USA’s side of the Rockies delivers dramatic backdrops and powder perfection, while Canada’s alpine resorts offer a blend of European elegance and Canadian warmth. Whether racing down Vail’s legendary runs or exploring Banff’s snow-draped national parks, our tailor-made itineraries ensure every detail is seamless. Beyond the icons, Big Sky and Sun Valley bring a quieter kind of magic – vast, uncrowded slopes and a sense of space that feels limitless. North America’s ski escapes aren’t just about skiing – they’re about embracing the spirit of winter in its most spectacular form.

For the aficionados who have refined their bucket list and families seeking bundles of wintery fun, Canada rolls out its ice-dusted carpet of iconic resorts and high-octane experiences that are often the envy of all.

Heli-skiing to the highest peaks and floating downhill with the fluffy-as-a-bear-cub snow beneath you, skiing in Canada is like an extreme game of snakes and ladders where, no matter where you go, everyone is a winner. Take bucket-list Whistler, for instance, with its epic wilderness that rivals every resort in North America. Having been known to challenge even an Olympic champion, piste-pros explore the vast backcountry while newbies follow in the tracks (pun intended) of gold-medal experts; all before heading onto the famed après-ski.
Promising the same switcharoo for both skiers and non-skiers, Banff’s’ idyllic UNESCO national park spans quieter slopes for a better chance of making fresh tracks in the three ski areas that make up the SKIBIG3. While Banff rules as the life and soul of the party, Lake Louise calls-dibs on the serene retreat angle. The best of both wintry worlds are neck-and-neck for inventive pastimes, with the likes of horse-drawn sleigh rides and heli-tours over the Canadian Rockies to see the frozen bubbles at Abraham Lake, proudly placed right on your doorstep.

Big, bold, and outrageously beguiling, skiing in the USA is a superlative in itself; but with ‘champagne’ powder snow, seriously scaled-up landscapes, and a handful of Wild West traditional towns, we believe it’s for all the right reasons.

A firm-favourite for its bottomless pit of adventures, the USA will always keep you hungry for more – and that’s before we’ve even waxed lyrical about a full day of hitting its slopes. There’s something for all tastes in this roll-out of resorts and with a feel-good service that makes even a black run seem undemanding, all energies are kept conserved for the things that matter. A scene just as sweet as the seemingly sugary-layers that cling to the trees, snow-capped peaks ripple out in front and draw you into your next challenge. Swinging a saloon door open onto the Wild West towns of Aspen and Park City; non-skiers are likely to have their hands full with the everyday buzz of glamorous shopping spots and stay-up-all-night jazz bars.
The skiers, however, head to Aspen’s quieter slopes with its sneaky-snowcats that find untouched locations, or to the all-ability terrain in the country’s largest linked ski area of Park City. Enviably accessible, Vail adds a tinsel-like sparkle to its super-well-lifted and immaculately groomed runs; while the glamorously exclusive Beaver Creek creates a snug hideaway for all those that prefer to keep their escapades a secret. Further north, Big Sky’s vast, crowd-free terrain and Sun Valley’s heritage-rich slopes offer a quieter kind of thrill, where the powder is deep, the views are cinematic, and the après feels like a well-kept secret.
