Corsica – The Mediterranean Sea – Sardinia

A super-yachting
paradise awaits

With an end destination that’s long been a sought-after spot to step ashore, even we know when it’s best to overlook the road less travelled.

Among the first, and today the coveted address on one of Italy’s most exclusive coastlines, Cala di Volpe is the place to be on Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda. A legacy beginning in the 1960s and planning to continue far into the future, its longevity is something of an inspiration for this particular itinerary.

Best for those in search of the kind of high-end luxury that unshakeable reputations tend to precede, a sense of classic indulgence is a running theme en route to the Sardinian shorelines. Naturally, we couldn’t resist adding a little anticipation to this trip, which starts on the neighbouring isle of Corsica. Two days to unwind on private sands set the tone for a seven-day stay aboard your very own private yacht. Of course, you’ll take the long way round to the Emerald Coast, in a week on glistening waters followed by another on land that centre on a rather Mediterranean ‘blue zone’ mentality. Mirroring those that live long past their centenary year, expect to simply spend time together at ease, with active pursuits available at your leisure, exemplary food and the finest wines.

Where you’ll be going

Get to know where you’ll be exploring across the Mediterranean, from the quiet bays of Corsica to the picture-perfect archipelagos off the coast of Sardinia.

  • Citadelle de Bonifacio an old fortified city, is anchored on limestone based, real isthmus sea
    Corsica

The deviant little sister that’s doing it her own way, Corsica’s mountainous island of contradictions incites even more twists and turns than its iconic winding roads. Tempting nature lovers with its forests lined with verdant valleys and sun-worshippers to its shimmering bays, this island is so multifaceted, it’d be a challenge not to be entertained.

Stay at: Grand Hôtel de Cala Rossa
  • Aerial view of a coastline with trees and clear turquoise waters.
    The open ocean

A holiday classic in the Mediterranean, charter a private yacht for a relaxing seven-day sail, moving between clear blue waters and sun-kissed shorelines. Beginning in Corsica and disembarking on the Emerald Coast, Sardinia’s La Maddelena archipelago is sure to be a highlight.

  • Rocky green coastal cliff by clear sea water that has three small boats just offshore
    Sardinia

Extraordinary
experiences

    • A bike with a basket parked with the sea in the background in Sardinia
Tour the Emerald Coast on two wheels

Taking a slightly quicker route than a classic coastal hike, follow an expert guide on an e-bike tour through the hills, villages and cliffsides of the Costa Smeralda. From glamourous Porto Cervo towards rugged Monte Moro, you’ll pause at captivating viewpoints to make the most of such sublime Mediterranean scenery.

    • four bunches of purple grapes in a sunny vineyard in Sardinia
      Sample the finest Sardinian wines

It’s no surprise that the sunny Sardinian coastline is an ideal climate for vineyards to thrive. Spend a day wandering between the rows of a particularly picturesque kind, learning how flavours are cultivated from growing conditions, to harvest, through to tasting a selection of wines, of course.

    • Freshly rolled traditional Sardinian gnocchi pasta
Learn the secrets of local longevity

Welcomed into a traditional countryside home as if you are old friends, embrace the simplicity and community that go hand in hand with local life here. Take the time to prepare a traditional Sardinian pasta dish together, hearing about life in a blue zone, where people often live to over 100 years old.

    • A group of people watching the sunset on a luxury private yacht
Sail to the tune of sunset

Bring the joy of live music onboard your private yacht, for an evening of entertainment tailored to your own tastes. Whether a solo artist, duo or small band is best, the evening is yours to spend with an ambient soundtrack to a sunset cocktail hour, a dance on deck or perhaps a singalong with your own song requests.

    • A table on a private yacht with wine glasses, nibbles, fruit and charcuterie
Try personalised wine tasting on the waves

Without having to move a muscle, sample a selection of wines chosen particularly for your group. An expert sommelier will join the team onboard your private yacht, bringing with them an array of the finest Italian labels for a curated pairing with the chef’s evening menu.

    • A woman knelt on a paddleboard in front of a luxury private yacht
Pick your water sports between sea and sands

Yachting wouldn’t quite be complete without indulging in some water sports. Ready to dive right in when you’re not exploring secluded sands, yachts are often complete with their own snorkelling equipment, inflatables, seabobs and paddleboards. Entirely at your own leisure of course, they’re a firm favourite for enjoying days under the Mediterranean sun.
