Explora Journeys: What's new in ultra-luxury cruising
These all-inclusive luxury cruises aren’t set to slow down anytime soon.

Less than five years after first making a splash into the world of luxury cruises, Explora Journeys are set to expand once again. Dynamic duo EXPLORA I & EXPLORA II have been sailing the seven seas since summer 2023 and 2024 respectively, with their success giving way to two highly anticipated additions to the portfolio. EXPLORA III will embark on her inaugural season in summer 2026, closely followed by the maiden voyage of EXPLORA IV in 2027.
Casting our minds back to the beginnings of these masters of high-end cruising, the ambition of the Aponte family has always been to curate a large-scale luxury yacht experience. Drawing on a seafaring heritage that harks back 300 years, the goal to have a fleet of six among the world’s best luxury cruise ships will reach its halfway point as EXPLORA III sets sail with an ‘Ocean State of Mind’, first on a voyage through Northern Europe, before crossing the pond to North America and the Caribbean.

What's new
Innovative even in appearance, the design of EXPLORA III itself adds 10,000 gross tonnes compared to its predecessor, its impressive 18.7 square metres of public space per guest leaving ample room to roam. Remarkably, just two additional suites have been added to the inventory; totalling 463 extensive Ocean Suites, Penthouses and Residences, space is centred towards the crème de la crème of suite categories, doubling the Owner’s Residences on Deck Seven. Ocean Penthouses now account for almost a quarter of suites, while Residences enjoy the greatest private outdoor spaces, most featuring private whirlpools.
All in all, this rather exquisite home-away-from-home elegantly widens the possibilities of Explora Journeys itineraries, moving towards a more environmentally friendly future by becoming the first in the fleet fuelled by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). Cruising ever-closer to an era of more sustainable seafaring, compared to traditional fuels, ships powered by this source release significantly reduced CO2 emissions, offering an alternative option for eco-conscious travellers.

Elevating their classic comforts, Explora Journeys continue to improve their onboard offerings on EXPLORA III & IV, ensuring their luxury expertise spans every new cruise ship. Naturally, the soothing wellness experiences that have become synonymous with the fleet will be an outstanding feature on the line’s newest additions, with the spa, fitness studio and beauty treatments ready to pamper guests between ports.
Signature dining will still be a must onboard, and with a choice of nine restaurants serving seasonal, authentic menus inspired by international cuisines, there’s sure to be something for everyone. Little ones too, will of course be more than taken care of. The Nautilus Club plans to open daily for ages 6-17 to let their creativity shine and channel energy into exciting activities. Put simply, EXPLORA III is set to build on the blueprint already so well mapped out.
