DAY 1
Arusha, Tanzania

DAY 2 - 3
Tarangire National Park
Stay at: Elewana Tarangire TreetopsUnfairly overlooked for its game viewing potential, Tarangire is for a slower pace of safari. Roamed predominantly by herbivores, the area benefits from watering holes that attract a profusion of elephants. Carnivores aren’t too far though, with the lions of nearby Lake Manyara defying feline stereotypes by climbing the trees.

DAY 4 - 5
Karatu
Stay at: Elewana's The Manor at NgorongoroNestled in the lush hills between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater, Karatu is a welcoming pause between Tanzania’s great wilderness areas. DAY 6 - 7
Northern Serengeti
Stay at: Elewana Serengeti Migration CampThe place to be at one with nature, where over two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelles crowd the plains each year and carnivores roam the 350,000 acres of the Grumeti Reserve, adjacent to the Western Corridor. Migration times change each year, so the central point is probably best for year-round game viewing.

Day 8 - 9
Mount Kilimanjaro
Stay at: Elewana Arusha Coffee LodgeThe highest point in Africa, at 5,895m high it is classed in climbing parlance as ‘extreme’, but a choice of local routes make the ascent a little easier, varying in duration and level of difficulty. From Uhuru Point, the actual summit, or Gillman’s Point on the crater lip, the views are breathtaking.

Arusha
We've touched down! We left the airport in the shadow of Kilimanjaro and are on our way to the foothills of Mount Meru, where Arusha Coffee Lodge awaits us.

Tarangire National Park
When the transfer from the airstrip turns into a game drive, you just know the day is going to be amazing! We've spent our day on an intimate bush walk with the local Maasai and even enjoyed a tipple in the lounge bar while the animals did the same in the watering hole below. We're just getting started though! Come sunset tomorrow, we'll be out on a nocturnal night drive to seethe action after dark before settling down to sleep among the baobab canopy.

Ngorongoro Crater
A hop, skip and a private jet flight away and a natural volcanic amphitheatre came into view. The bottom of Ngorongoro Crater is teeming with wildlife amongst its grasslands and lakes. Not only have we seen lions, zebra and black rhino, but the hippos and flamingos of Lake Manyara as well! We, of course, took a short break from the wildlife to explore the coffee plantations on the crater’s edge that surround Elewana The Manor.

Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti needs no introduction, but its never-ending horizon was so much more amazing in real life. Today we visitied Serengeti National Park and were extremely lucky to witness so much wildlife making their Great Migration. We saw wildebeest, zebras and gazelles crossing the river in droves! I think it's my highlight of the trip so far.

Kilimanjaro
A game drive to the airstrip was our farewell to the bush before touching down in Kilimanjaro airport. We've returned to spend a peaceful night back in Arusha Coffee Lodge before we fly home with the memories of this amazing trip still fresh in our minds.
