These are moments of meaningful wellness that go beyond the body, helping to rebuild bonds between the natural world, your inner circle, and perhaps most importantly, yourself.

These are moments of meaningful wellness that go beyond the body, helping to rebuild bonds between the natural world, your inner circle, and perhaps most importantly, yourself.

When it comes to wellness, the physical can be so simple; we know a great massage melts away tension and that nutritious fare nourishes from the inside out. But when it comes to the mind, it’s not just about feeling good in the body, but in the soul too; pulling thoughts away from the stressful and overwhelming, and grounding them in presence and perspective. The journeys in this range are testament to that, bypassing the ‘traditional’ wellness treatments in favour of experiences that are rooted in nature and relationships – that lift the spirit and uncloud the head.

The likes of witnessing the Aurora Borealis or forest bathing in ancient woodland are scientifically proven to boost feel-good hormones, as does spotting constellations that light up the darkest skies in Greece and South Africa. And Mother Nature triumphs once more when it comes to encounters with some of her most empathetic creatures that foster a deeper human and animal bond. Yet, nothing can compare to the healing wonders of shared experiences, like taking on the challenges of Montana’s wide-open spaces, where creating core memories with loved ones becomes the best medicine of all.

1. A tale of two safaris
Tanzania

Small group on a guided walking safari observing giraffes in a grassy savannah with scattered trees.

1. A tale of two safaris
Tanzania

It’s an intentional approach to safari stays that sets this pairing apart from the rest. Beginning by slowing the pace in a rather extravagant amount of space – lodges are located with nature as your only neighbour – Chem Chem invites guests to quite simply take their time. A backdrop of the towering Rift Valley Escarpment flows down to views of open plains and the shores of Lake Manyara here, where a design realised in canvas, thatch and stone assimilates the lodge into its surroundings. When you do decide to venture out beyond the shade of palm and acacia trees, there’s a wildlife corridor awaiting to be explored.

Space and seclusion similarly translate to a second private concession, where Mwiba Lodge stands proud protector of Arugusinyai River gorge from its lofty heights. Copper and hand-carved wood are where interiors differ, but the offer of a private guide and game drive maps onto a new location in an equally languid manner. Shared with tribal communities and the Friedkin Conservation Fund, an appreciation for the natural world is solidified here with the understanding of how it’s protected – and even the opportunity to sleep out under the stars.

Something special:
An extremely rare sight across the length and breadth of Africa, Big Tusker Elephants are truly something to behold. With tusks long enough to just miss the ground, there are only a handful of these particular gentle giants in the wild. Thanks to conservation efforts close to Chem Chem Lodge, guests can observe their larger-than-life stature free from crowds; there’s no need to rush watching these majestic creatures meandering through the Tanzanian wilderness.

Carrier recommends:
Handpicking these luxury lodges to pair made perfect sense to us; immersed in the natural landscape of northern Tanzania, undisturbed access to nature thanks to each private concession means slowing a safari schedule couldn’t be more encouraged. But though the two are mirrored in a laissez-faire lifestyle, moving from one to the other offers an added element of variety. Connecting with tribal neighbours from the Maasai and Barabaig, Hadzabe and Datogais add alternative perspectives too, allowing guests to find that mother nature has provided everything we needed all along.

Extraordinary
experiences

    • Guest participating in a traditional dance with a local community group in an outdoor natural setting.
      Walk among the Hadzabe tribe

Among the last hunter gatherer tribes in the world, guests are welcomed to spend a morning walking in the footsteps of the Hadzabe tribe. Living off the land and leaving no trace, see how the tribe continue to navigate the wilderness they call home. Trusting age-old methods in contrast to the modernisation we’ve become so accustomed to, it’s their deep connection to nature that’s so captivating here.

    • Helicopter flying above rugged rock formations and open savannah landscape in warm golden light.
      Soar above a scenic landscape

Those that relish an exhilarating opportunity will find their wishes granted in a helicopter ride that takes to the skies over Tanzania. Peer over the landscape below, taking in awe-inspiring scenery and national parks from above. The sheer scope of mother nature’s grandeur will be on full display when spotting Mount Kilimanjaro and the great Rift Valley, formed when tectonic plates in the earth’s crust move apart.

    • Person seated beside a campfire at night under a star-filled sky, pointing a light towards the horizon.
Look to the skies for a nighttime safari

As a dark blanket covers the sky for the night, make the most of the minimal light pollution, turning your eyes upwards to the stars. Accompanied by an expert, pick out the southern hemisphere’s constellations twinkling above, trace the arc of the Milky Way, and enjoy a sense of awe in reconnecting to your place on planet earth in the vastness of space.

2. Deplar Farm
Iceland

Helicopter parked beside a turf‑roof lodge in a wide alpine valley bathed in golden evening light.

2. Deplar Farm
Iceland

Ruled by nature and deep-rooted in tradition, Deplar Farm is one of Iceland’s most remote retreats. Living its former life as a sheep farm, the black timber walls now house 13 rooms that welcome guests to experience the therapeutic and restorative abilities of the Troll Peninsula, both at the lodge and in the wilderness beyond.

Making the most of its surroundings, the huge spa is encased in glass windows to foster a closeness to the landscape. It’s here where Viking wellness rituals and therapies like sound healing and Arctic plunges help to ground and rejuvenate. And expert-guided seasonal adventures allow Mother Nature to fuel inspiration and mindfulness through phenomena like the midnight sun and the Aurora Borealis.

Something special
With a great belief in the healing powers of its homeland, Icelandic-inspired traditions are a speciality. The Viking sauna ritual – involving a brave move from the cosy mound-covered sauna to the freezing plunge pool outside – may seem daunting. But with the careful instruction from an expert therapist, specific breathing techniques make it an invigorating and immune boosting experience. Meanwhile, temperature continues to be a theme in the Fire & Ice massage therapy.

Carrier recommends
Although the small room count and secluded locale makes Deplar Farm an undeniably exclusive experience, the Grettir King Suite (the namesake of an Icelandic outlaw) turns it into an even more private affair. The largest of all the Nordic-named rooms, it’s outfitted with comforting loft and fireplace lounge areas, a private deck looking to the north, and spa essentials including a sauna, steam shower and soaking tub.

Extraordinary
experiences

    • Outdoor geothermal pool at a remote lodge beneath the northern lights, with mountains silhouetted in the background.
Focus on the here and now beneath the ethereal Aurora

Sparking awe even in those who have seen them a million times, there’s nothing to be done but stop and stare when the Northern Lights make an appearance. Visible from September to March, the phenomenon is proven to reduce stress by lowering cortisol and prompting a mindful pause (some countries are even prescribing the Aurora for mental health), and there isn’t even any need to leave the lodge to find it  they blanket the sky above a midnight soak in the outdoor geothermal pool.

    • Minimalist indoor pool with floor‑to‑ceiling windows overlooking an expansive valley and distant water.
Experience weightless wonder in Deplar’s cavernous spa

From the treatment rooms to the sound bath studio, most corners of the glass-enclosed 5,000-square-foot spa are light and airy, but ultimate relaxation waits in the cosseted confines of the i-sopod flotation tank. While floating in the Epsom salt water, the lack of environmental distractions allows the body to focus on itself; with key benefits being reducing blood pressure, increasing circulation and red blood cells, and taking the weight off muscles to allow them to heal quicker.

    • Group of hikers walking along a rugged coastal ridge at sunset with expansive mountain and sea views.
Soak in the beauty of the Troll Peninsula’s raw and remote nature

It’s common knowledge that time in nature has been proven to positively impact well-being, and there’s absolutely no shortage of it at Deplar. Among the adventures to be had on both land and sea here, a slow and mindful snowshoe hike proves to be one of the most rewarding, and not just for the physical and mental upsides; there’s the chance to spot endemic birdlife with an expert guide too.

3. NIHI Sumba
Indonesia

Beachfront resort with thatched villas and palm trees, with a group of horses running along the shoreline by turquoise water.

3. NIHI Sumba
Indonesia

It’s simply the space to roam freely and an appreciation for the untouched earth that characterise a stay at NIHI Sumba. And though this ‘forgotten island’ often falls under the radar, rarely are coastlines more coveted than at the site of Nihiwatu. A secluded – and exclusive – surfer’s paradise without doubt, hidden behind a jungle embrace, wellness manifests in a reminder of our intrinsic connection to the natural world.

Divided into four distinct pathways, the ‘wild wellness’ concept takes the classics of lavish luxury to the great outdoors, encouraging a slower pace of life in its placid spa treatments. Fresh ingredients used in elegantly simple cuisine continue a connection to the island, while active pursuits cover both land and sea. And almost in answer to mother nature’s generosity, the work of The Sumba Foundation looks beyond the resort to protect the rich culture and heritage of the island community. It’s this subtle symbiosis that grounds an already tranquil oasis.

Something special
Tapping into Sumba’s history, a stay here wouldn’t be complete without spending time with the island’s horses. Whether by the shoreline or roaming freely over green pastures, these intelligent animals effortlessly bring a calm, steady presence, naturally encouraging guests to bring their full selves to any experience. As symbols of freedom, strength and partnership, they’re even said to help bring balance between the spiritual and physical worlds as a feature of the island’s annual Pasola celebrations.

Carrier recommends
To best experience this west-coast enclave, we’d recommend spending six nights settled at NIHI Sumba. A stretch of time that allows guests to see the resort in its entirety, the expectation is to take each day at your own pace, choosing to indulge in the spa, embrace island culture and enjoy days to simply do nothing. Enhancing your holiday even further, we’d suggest adding a private yacht cruise through Komodo, and a stay in ever-popular Bali.

Extraordinary
experiences

    • Open-air spa treatment area with massage beds overlooking a tropical coastline and clear blue sea.
Embrace the simplicity of a spa safari

Choose to travel by horseback, bicycle, safari vehicle or coastal walk to the Nihioka Spa, passing through local villages and verdant hills to the wishing hand ocean viewpoint. Cooled by fresh coconut on arrival, sit down to dine surrounded by spectacular scenery on a masterclass of modest ingredients. Breakfast is a simple yet effective affair, followed by a beachfront stroll with no constraints on time. Then, indulge in up to six spa treatments, chosen with the help of dedicated therapists.

    • Surfer riding inside a powerful breaking wave with spray cascading overhead.
Catch the famous Occy’s Left wave

Nicknamed after the Australian surfing champion Mark Occhilupo, who thought it among the best waves he’d ever surfed, the 300-meter left-hand point break of Nihiwatu is the best way for an experienced surfer to appreciate mother nature’s power on the coast of Indonesia. Connecting to a destination doesn’t get more thrilling, or exclusive than this. Reserved only for guests of NIHI Sumba, only a select few can take on this giant at one time.

    • Two people practising mirrored yoga poses on a platform beside a pool with palm trees and sea views in the background.
      Learn from innovative wellness experts

With an emphasis on rejuvenation, stress release and restoring a deep connection to your sense of self, the visiting practitioners at NIHI Sumba are a fountain of wellness knowledge. Look beyond any negative emotions in guided meditation, reiki or mantra sessions informed by Japanese practices. Lean into a grounding feeling of calm brought about by yoga or massage therapies, designed to release any tension and restore balance.

4. Noka Camp, Lepogo Lodges
South Africa

Luxury safari-style lodge perched on a cliff overlooking a winding river and expansive landscape at sunset.

4. Noka Camp, Lepogo Lodges
South Africa

Only in Africa could you find a place that is this defined by nature, and even then, Noka Camp stretches the meaning further. Just six abodes have the sweeping expanse of Lapalala Wilderness Reserve to play in, whether that be heading out on game drives to spot the Big Five, getting to know the conservation efforts at work, or digging into the area’s history through Bushman paintings and an Iron Age site.

It’s certainly a place where excitement reigns, but as wild as this vast bushland is, there’s always time to slow down and recharge. Spa treatments are done in the comfort of your room, and an open-air deck is where yoga and gym sessions play out above the canopy. Meanwhile, riverside dinners and boat trips nearby offer a connection with Mother Nature and her calming powers in exciting and romantic ways.

Explore this hotel

Something special
Extending across 50,000 hectares of protected land, Lapalala Wilderness Reserve is a haven for wildlife and deeply rooted in conservation. It also happens to only be accessible to a maximum of 28 lucky safari-goers at any one time across five villas and one expansive house. It’s one of the most exclusive reserves out there where wildlife excursions aren’t disturbed by other camps, activities are kept to small groups, and guests have more than enough room to breathe.

Carrier recommends
Waking up to sweeping views of the reserve in the glass-fronted Villa Suites starts the day off with a dopamine boost even before any animals enter the picture. Meticulous attention to detail has been paid to each accommodation, but for us, it’s their sky beds that triumph. Seemingly suspended in mid-air, the alfresco beds sit atop glass decks above the river, and we highly encourage spending at least one night here beneath the blanket of stars.

Extraordinary
experiences

    • Cheetah walking through green grass and bushland, looking directly ahead in a natural habitat.
Follow in the footsteps of wild cheetahs

While seeing the world’s fastest land animal on safari is a thrill, tracking them on foot is a core memory in the making. Using specialised gear, a trained guide leads the way to where the cheetahs are resting before instructing the group on a careful approach. Then, getting no closer than 10 metres, your guide will assess the animal’s behaviour before deeming it safe to stay for a while to take photos or simply enjoy the sight.

    • Pangolin curled into a protective ball beside a tree trunk on dry forest ground.
Get to know the ins and outs of pangolin conservation

As one of the most trafficked animals in the world, adorably peculiar pangolins have become highly endangered. A cause close to the reserve’s heart, guests have the chance to experience the work of a specialist team at Lapalala and their partners – the African Pangolin Working Group – who have worked hard to protect these animals. Together, they have developed a safe space on the reserve that includes a rehabilitation centre and secure facility where they can roam while they recover

    • Two guests sitting by a fire pit at night, illuminated by lanterns while enjoying drinks under a dark sky.
Experience the skies through the eyes of ancient forebears

Having recently been bestowed with International Dark Sky Park status (the first one in the country no less), there’s great promise held in an evening of stargazing at Noka Camp. With the twinkling night sky unfurling overhead, gather around a cosy campfire to spot planets in our solar system and beyond – seen almost as they would have been to the eyes of the ancient settlers who made their home on this land 100 years ago.

5. Reid's Palace, A Belmond Hotel
Madeira

5. Reid's Palace, A Belmond Hotel
Madeira

With a mild climate year-round that nurtures a green and fertile land, Madeira, it seems, is the place to grow. Packing a lot into its compact frame, wellness warriors needn’t travel far to find their zen among the island’s volcanic peaks and waterfall-studded landscape. Just over half an hour from the capital, Funchal, lies a prehistoric rainforest, while hiking trails that follow the ancient Levada irrigation channels are even closer. And if a short but sweet dose of mindfulness is in order, an abundance of bold and beautiful tropical gardens make the city itself a sanctuary of serenity.

Also, within the city’s circumference lies the hilltop hideaway of Reid’s Palace, A Belmond Hotel. Proving that you don’t have to travel to rural regions for renewal, this island institution has been a healing elixir for many a famous name over the years. Now, it’s a well-being wonderland with a newly built spa and gym that’s doubled in size, balancing old traditions with newer innovations.

Something special
At Reid’s Palace, the approach to wellness rests on six holistic pillars. You’ll find two, TOUCH and MOVEMENT, in the generous spa and fitness area – focusing on supporting the body with exercise and indulgent spa therapies. Then there’s SPIRITUALITY and NATURE BATHING that teach the importance of connection through local experiences and engaging with your surroundings. And lastly there’s CREATIVITY and NUTRITION; the former aiming to restore the mind through art workshops, the latter on nurturing the body through delectable yet healthy food in the restaurants.

Carrier recommends
Perched on its own private peninsula with the likes of a sea-level sun deck and pool and tennis courts enveloped in subtropical gardens, it’s almost as if Reid’s Palace grew in this spot alongside its vivid blooms. While here, a Junior Suite is the best place to rest between activities – providing plenty of space to unwind and a balcony with soothing views of either the sea or gardens.

Accompanied by a local guide and a yoga teacher, head out at dawn to find a secluded spot to start the day with some mindful movement and soothing sound. During the session, see the sunrise above the clouds from high in the peaks (weather permitting), or to the gentle lapping of waves by the coast, before tucking into a picnic breakfast. If by the coast, a refreshing swim or yacht trip can follow.

    • Three guests standing on a hillside overlooking rolling landscapes and clouds at sunset.
Follow the trails of the famous levadas

Stretching from east to west, Madeira’s water-fed Levadas weave through some of the island’s most beautiful scenery. Depending on which side has the best weather, follow a guide and yoga instructor on a mild hike beside one of the waterways, finding a quiet area before settling in for a conscious breathing session and meditation to the natural soundtrack of birdlife and the gentle trickling. Enjoying a delectable picnic in the same spot afterwards.

    • Colourful botanical gardens in full bloom in Funchal, Madeira.
Enjoy a tour and meditation session among the gardens

With a nickname like the ‘Floating Garden of the Atlantic’, it’s no surprise that many become stuck with where to start when it comes to exploring Madeira’s botanical brilliance. An in-the-know guide is on hand to help and, following a lesson on local plant life, will take you to one of Madeira’s prettiest gardens where a yoga instructor awaits for a meditation class with the aid of sound healing gongs.

6. The Capra
Switzerland

Cosy and calming in a way only a classic Alpine abode knows how, The Capra has the kind of welcoming atmosphere you want when it comes to a well-being break. Encompassing a range of focus areas, the hotel’s on-site Peak Health Retreat programmes emphasise five ‘pillars of vitality’ and help guests with everything from nutritional balance to a good night’s rest. They also host Partner Retreats that highlight slightly more nuanced topics, from yoga and aromatherapy to creative writing and mindful movement.

With flower-blanketed hiking trails in summer and snow-sure terrain in winter, the mountains of the wider Saas-Fee Resort are put to good use on these retreats too, but what’s on the doorstep shouldn’t be neglected. Nestled below the tallest peaks in Switzerland in an area known as the ‘Pearl of the Alps’, during downtime, there’s freedom to roam the car-free village and bask in the historic village centre and its feeling of high-altitude aloneness.

Something special
Whether in the summer sun or winter frost, The Capra’s Personalised Peak Health Retreats allow guests to zero in on an area of their life they’d like to improve and how to get there. From providing guidance to help break bad habits and strengthening mental resistance to resetting sleep cycles, each programme combines holistic practices and experiences in the beautiful Swiss landscape, featuring curated menus and expert direction in order for guests to leave changed for the better.

Carrier recommends
Sought after for its out-of-the-way location, to reach The Capra, it’s best to travel in style in a first-class coach on the train from Geneva to Visp. Taking about two and a half hours in total, the journey passes through some breathtaking Alpine landscapes, so it’s a pleasure to just sit back and watch them unfold before the window. From Visp, a private car will then whisk you up into the Saas Valley.

Extraordinary

    • Cosy lounge with wooden interiors, leather seating, bookshelves, and a central stone fireplace.
Embrace the well-being benefits of creative writing

As part of the hotel’s group retreat programme, absolutely no experience is needed on this five-day long journey of self-discovery. Guided by expressive arts therapist Elitsa Velikova, mornings consist of a three-hour writing workshop in the mountain-facing library. Afternoons then feature either more time to continuing writing or finding inspiration on guided walks and spa treatments, while evenings are reserved for group readings and reflection to allow growth in both skillset and confidence.

    • Tranquil indoor spa with a heated pool, stone pillars, loungers, and a softly lit fireplace.
Revel in the exclusivity of The Capra’s Private Spa

Fulfilling the dream of many a spa lover, this perfectly private space can be reserved just for one. With a Finnish sauna, steam bath and hydrotherapy pool, it’s easy to occupy time in here, but to sweeten the deal there is the option to enhance the experience. Think spa treatments like body polishes and facials chosen from the main spa menu, and little treats like fruit and smoothies to savour between dips in the pools.

    • Person navigating a high ropes course between trees while secured with a harness in a forest setting.
Tickle taste buds with wholesome local cuisine

Balancing the traditional indulgence of Swiss favourites with fresh and nourishing farm-to-table ingredients, the fare at The Capra is both fulfilling and heart-warming. On a Peak Health Retreat focused on nutrition, seasonal full-board menus focus on balancing blood sugar without any restrictive dieting. 7. The Resort at Paws Up
USA

Red and black hot air balloon floating above a misty landscape at sunrise with rolling hills in the distance.

7. The Resort at Paws Up
USA

Stretching out over 37,000 acres of Montana’s wilderness (including a portion of the Blackfoot River), The Resort at Paws Up encourages nothing more than a walk on the wild side. A wide age range of adrenaline junkies and nature appreciators are welcomed to reconnect and let off steam, making use of the plethora of trails, an A-star Equestrian Centre and a bounty of equipment for almost every outdoorsy activity out there.

With adventure in the great wide open being the name of the game here, it’s easy to forget that Paws Up does slowed-downed spa retreats just as well. In a clearing surrounded by fragrant pines sits Spa Town, a collection of individual treatment tents reminiscent of a silver-screen summer camp. Though here you won’t find sleepovers or silly pranks, instead, expect massages on heated tables, yoga on the outdoor deck and forest bathing.

Something special
Being a ranch, the presence of horses comes as no surprise. What may cause the raising of eyebrows though is that there’s a whole herd of them – some are wild, but the majority are esteemed members of the Saddle Club Experience. From nervous first-time riders to seasoned pros, Paws Up have curated equine activities that leave no one out, from trail rides and cattle drives to the Junior Wrangler Programme and one-on-one lessons in the huge indoor arena.

Carrier recommends
All too often, wellness retreats get labelled as something for the grown-ups. But it’s common knowledge that spending time with loved ones helps to improve mental health. And, with the resort’s extensive activity list for a variety of ages, it’s easy to make this a family affair. What makes this even easier is that it’s a year-round destination – though travelling between spring and autumn means the majority of activities are on the cards.

Extraordinary
experiences

    • Person interacting with a horse in an open grassy field with several other horses grazing in the background.
Unlock a soothed state of mind with horse whispering

With the ability to mirror human emotions, it’s plain to see why people have always had a connection with horses. During a tailor-made horse whispering session, the bond with these empathetic and majestic animals is nurtured further, encouraging a mutual respect and conscious focus on body language – perhaps even overcoming a fear. Similarly, a Mustang Mindfulness session showcases the patient process of ‘gentling’ (not domesticating) wild mustangs, demonstrating the importance of a slow and steady mindset.

    • Small group rafting on a calm river surrounded by dense forest and rocky banks in a scenic natural setting.
Embrace the calming side of the Blackfoot River

Despite the heart-thumping whitewater rafting trips on offer, this famed river also knows how to take it slow. A gentle way to experience the breadth of nature in these parts, a river floating excursion allows you to simply lean back and take it all in, offering the chance to glimpse wildlife like deer and bald eagles. And the knowledgeable guides who provide company on these tours ensure nothing gets missed.

    • Person navigating a high ropes course between trees while secured with a harness in a forest setting.
Test both mind and body high in the pines

A boost for confidence and skill, the Skyline Aerial Adventure Park is both a puzzle to solve and a workout to complete. Comfort zones can be pushed on two courses: the Canopy Tour, involving swinging platforms, nets, wobbly bridges and even a 40-foot free fall; and a test for even expert climbers – the aptly named Challenge Course – that features similar elements but dialled up a notch, including a drop from 55 feet up.

8. The Revery
Greece

Cliffside infinity pool with loungers and parasols overlooking rugged mountains and coastal scenery.

8. The Revery
Greece

Favouring the seclusion of the island’s west coast, this quiet family-owned enclave is steered by all things Cretan. Crafted from local wood and stone, every corner is a reminder of the landscape it inhabits. Whether in the clifftop suites or in tented pavilions by the water, there’s no missing out on airy interiors, floor-to-ceiling windows, sunset views and perfectly private outdoor pools or Jacuzzis.

The ode to Crete continues on the menus. First, there’s the dining – an amalgamation of seasonal produce sourced from waters and lands nearby, grounded in family recipes that have been passed from kitchen to kitchen. Then, there’s that of the ROÉE Spa, where local healing traditions mingle with native botanicals. Named after the Greek word for ‘flow’, it’s a fitting place to become closer to the rhythm of nature.

Something special
The Revery walks the walk when it comes to caring about nature. Adopting a low-impact approach during building, each accommodation has been designed to harness nature’s power with the likes of solar energy and stone from on-site being used throughout. Any flora that was moved has also painstakingly been replanted, so the natural landscape guests get to bask in from their private decks is just as it would have been had they found this spot a few years ago.

Carrier recommends
Of the two abode types on offer here, we’d recommend The Revery Wild for the ultimate back-to-nature retreat with no comforts left out. Nestled within the rocky cliffside, these luxury tented pavilions take their cues from the chic safari lodges of Africa. The indoor/outdoor living box is ticked with private decks, alfresco lounge areas and mini hydrotherapy pools under the Cretan rays – with front row seats to sweeping ocean vistas, of course.

Extraordinary
experiences

    • Star-filled night sky with the Milky Way visible above a rustic stone building and silhouetted figures.
Stargaze the darkest skies in Greece

Starting just after the sun says goodnight, a cosy outdoor lounge is the setting of choice as the night sky unfolds. Proven to lower stress and calm the nervous system, stargazing in these parts opens eyes to slices of the universe you may never have seen before, with the help of an expert storytelling guide. The new moon phase is when the skies are at their darkest and this experience takes place, so it's essential to time a trip accordingly.

    • Warmly lit spa interior with round soaking tubs, sauna area, and reclining loungers creating a calm wellness space.
Recalibrate the mind with sound healing

Proven to calm even the busiest of heads, sound healing both alters the body and the brain for the better. Using the soothing vibrations of crystal singing bowls and therapeutic instruments, each session instils a deep relaxation as the sound waves penetrate the body and release feel-good chemicals like endorphins – relieve any tense muscles and stimulate circulation. Sessions tend to be in the evening, making for a relaxed dining experience and a restorative sleep afterwards.

    • Minimalist interior with wooden furniture, neutral tones, and natural textures in a calm living space.
Discover the nuances of two Mediterranean diet staples

Both healthy and delicious, the Mediterranean diet has long been considered one of the best – and luckily two of its core components reside on Crete. Venturing to a picture-perfect estate, uncover the processes that go into making Creten wine and olive oil, touring the vineyards and groves and indulging in a tasting along the way. Then, head to see and learn all about one of the oldest olive trees in the world – the Olive Tree of Vouves.
