Home may feel a world away out in the African bush, but the inviting spirit of Loisaba Tented Camp makes even new guests feel like they belong. Just a dozen airy tents mean there’s no overcrowding, making service as intimate and experiences as personalised as can be. There are the usual game drives from day to night and walking safaris with local guides, of course, plus impeccable stargazing. But the camp has branched out to give its guests more unique ways in which to explore the impeccable nature of Laikipia plains; from horseback riding and mountain biking to helicopter tours and camel safaris.
Where Loisaba Tented Camp truly excels, though, is in its conservation efforts. Sitting in a landscape rich with lion, Grevy’s zebra, wild dog, and even black leopard, the camp looks to protect its surrounding habitats and wildlife – and support local communities – through research and various initiatives, inviting curious minds to get involved along the way. This includes children’s ‘warrior training’ teaching them tribal skills, visits to a Samburu village to learn about their culture and local living, and visiting the conservancy’s anti-poaching headquarters to head out on foot to see the team in action alongside their four sniffer bloodhounds Warrior, Machine, Memusi and Nanyokie.

Nestling on the side of Llimbarishi Hill with magnificent sweeping views across the plains to Mount Kilimanjaro, the camp is located in Amboseli, best known for its immense elephant population.
Located within a private conservancy, this exclusive camp lies in front of the largest, natural salt lick in the Masai Mara attracting an abundance of wildlife all day long.
