A Rare Finds resort, Shamwari has conservation at its heart, having worked to restore this corner of the cape and to protect the local wildlife. Bushlands and grasslands coexist here, and the malaria-free lands are home to the Big Five, as well as the elusive cheetah. Safari experiences are, of course, the soul of a stay at Shamwari. Game drives and walking safaris are led by passionate guides in the morning, afternoon and night, and the whole family is invited to get involved with the reserve’s Kids on Safari programme.
Each lodge has a unique feel and purpose, from exclusive bush experiences to river views and accommodations suited to families, couples, friend groups and even solo travellers. A Holistic Wellness Philosophy plays a large part of any stay at Shamwari, its bespoke spa treatments taking inspiration from the surrounding local nature.
