Pioneers of the first truly mobile luxury camps in India, The Ultimate Travelling Camp introduces the discerning traveller to unique adventures in some of the country’s furthest flung corners.

Combining carefully curated and unexpected locations with luxury tented accommodation, guests are able to experience dramatic landscapes, local festivals and cultural events that would otherwise remain undiscovered. En-suite facilities and private butler service ensure comfort; complimentary ponchos and pashmina shawls are provided for warmth during cooler nights.

Striving to be as sustainable as possible, The Ultimate Travelling Camp also aims to leave no carbon footprint behind at the season’s end. All sightseeing is organised with a private tour manager, chauffeur and vehicle.

      Kohima Camp, Nagaland

Bound by Assam in the west, Myanmar in the east, Arunachal Pradesh in the north and Manipur in the south, Nagaland is a picturesque state bursting with rolling hills and verdant rain forests. It is here that Ultimate Travelling Camp has its Kohima Camp; operating from 29 November to 12 December annually. It is designed to coincide perfectly with the annual Hornbill Festival, which provides the only occasion for the 16 distinct Naga tribes to be seen together. With the aim of the festival being to revive and protect the rich culture of Nagaland while displaying its history, culture and traditions, guests are guaranteed an immersive and insightful stay. Come evening, settle down to a spectacular campfire dinner accompanied by Naga singers, or scour the night bazaars for local artifacts and Naga delicacies.

      Chamba Camp, Thiksey

Operating annually between 15 May and 10 October, this camp is positioned in the shadow of the 15th Century Thiksey Monastery within the spectacular snow-capped Himalayas. Eleven luxury suite and three presidential suite tents are discreetly scattered throughout the site, allowing for utmost privacy along with uninterrupted views; sophisticated furnishings, designer linen and specially crafted Ayurvedic cosmetics adorn the tent interiors for a refined and relaxed feel. Yet it is the experiences here that are unparalleled – join monks at Thiksey Monastery for early morning prayers, take guided walks through remote villages, and embrace the thrill of whitewater rafting. Spectacular outdoor campfire dinners are arranged, or enjoy outstanding cuisine on a jetty poised over water.
