Adorned with Asian influences and reflecting the history and style of the Art Deco movement, this luxury resort is an exemplary choice for cultural connoisseurs; famed museums and creative institutions are only moments away. In beautiful juxtaposition, the Ocean Suites are situated within a 40-story glass tower boasting unsurpassable views, whilst the aptly-named Art Deco Suites are based within the circa-1930s Art Deco building on Collins Avenue. An Eastern atmosphere pervades the accommodations – baths clad in black granite, rooms adorned with silk fabrics, rainfall-style showers and daybed seating.
Dining encompasses Asian fusion cuisine at the newly opened Jaya and lighter culinary options accompanied by spectacular ocean vistas at The Bar & Courtyard and The Pool & Beach Bar. An array of sumptuous experiences await at The Spa at The Setai by THÉMAÉ, where treatments revolve around the healing properties of tea. Three beachside infinity pools tempt relaxation and play for both families and couples, whilst the private area on Miami’s South Beach further amplifies The Setai’s unique offering; a range of watersports are also on offer for those who seek more lively recreations.

This luxury hotel benefits from being within close proximity to a number of revered cultural institutions and museums, including the New World Center and Bass Museum of Art. Recognised for its distinctive Frank Gehry design, the New World Center welcomes classical music aficionados to enjoy performances from the New World Symphony orchestra. As the only fine art museum on Miami Beach, the Bass Museum of Art is worth a visit for its Renaissance art exhibitions and remarkable Antiquities alone; tours of the museum are available every Saturday from 2pm.
Led by Executive Chef Mathias Gervais and Executive Sous Chef Vijayudu Veena, new Asian restaurant Jaya offers a delightful blend of Thai, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Indian cuisine in a sleek and modern setting. Named after the hotel’s distinguished interior designer Jaya Ibrahim, the restaurant successfully encompasses everything that The Setai is renowned for: effortless style, impeccable attention to detail and first-class Asian-inspired hospitality. Savour Tandoor seabass, lobster laksa or truffle dumplings indoors or alfresco-style in the tranquil courtyard.
Tea is the running theme at the resort’s premier spa, where rejuvenating white, green, black and rooibos tea treatments come courtesy of Paris-based spa brand THÉMAÉ. Guests can opt for their treatment in one of the luxury spa suites overlooking the ocean and pool or in-suite for additional comfort and privacy. Specialist spa therapies include a traditional Maghreb Hammam Ceremony for alleviating tension and an Oriental Ceremony for couples; an invigorating body scrub followed by a gentle massage is the perfect way to unwind after a day spent exploring Miami.
Designed exclusively by Republic Bike, the complimentary bicycles at The Setai are available to all guests and have been specially engineered for riding along the beach with ease. Adorned with stylish touches, the bicycles feature distinctive coral wheels and brushed nickel baskets for carrying essentials. Make the best use of these baskets with an elaborate beach picnic, prepared especially by Executive Chef Mathias Gervais and his team.
With perennial sunshine and long days, Florida is a holiday destination to visit all year-round. The state is warm and dry in the winter and hot and humid in the summer, when short, heavy showers can be expected. Families who are tied to the school holidays should ideally aim to book at least a year in advance in order to take advantage of the best airfares and hotel availability. Palm Beach is also popular around the school holiday seasons.
