Situated in the secluded local community of Vacherie in the old Louisiana River Road Sugar Region, the luxury hotel boasts a highly desirable location, only moments away from the Mississippi River. The inviting overnight cottages offer the perfect place to unwind, with rustic fireplaces and ornate traditional furniture making up the interior. Hearty Creole fare and Louisiana specialities are served by day at the Oak Alley Restaurant, which is housed in a charming 19th Century cottage. Historic recreations include professional group tours of the plantation house and exploring the reconstructed slave cabins, whilst The Spirits Bar is the place to go for a local crafted beers.
The temperature in New Orleans is mostly pleasant all year round, with a similar climate to the Caribbean. The humidity levels fluctuate throughout the year, with May to September being typically hot and humid and June to November experiencing occasional heavy rainstorms. We highly recommend visiting between February and May.
